power of $1

This last week I was in line to pay at one of my favorite fine dining establishments. For those who know me it starts with a "Q."
The gentlemen in front of me was paying with cash. He asked for the total then frantically started to search other pockets for loose change. He found some, it was inside his jacket pocket, but apprently was not enouch for his bill. So, he asked the cashier to remove his soft drink from the total and recalculate. This all happened fairly quickly as there was a line of people behind us growing more impatient my the nano-second, after all this was their lunch break. I could see the screen and saw that he was trying to come up with ninety eight cents to cover his deficit. I reached in my pocket and pulled out a one dollar bill and held it in my hand. He had his wallet laying on the counter with his keys (had emptied his pockets) and was recounting his loose change. Without saying a word, I just reached forward and laid the one dollar bill on top of his wallet. He saw it, inhaled for the first time in well over a minute, looked at me and nodded, then handed the cashier the dollar. His head was a little higher as he took his one burrito to his seat to share with his significant other. They shared one water cup.

i love u dad

Grateful for a dad who overcame to give his kids so much. Thank you for: being a leader when it was not popular, providing us with opportunities that most never have, chasing your dreams as a pilot, so I could follow your footsteps, making time for me, teaching me to work hard, inparting wisdom, not overly-caring about the opinions of others. But most importantly for having a heart for God and fulfilling His purposes for your life. i love you dad

surplus matters

"A man with a surplus can control circumstances, but a man without a surplus is controlled by them, and often has no opportunity to exercise judgment."

what do you burn for?

Napoleon Hill says, “Once you have a burning desire and you live in purpose with that desire, decisions come quickly and easily and seldom if ever will you change your mind.”

think well

"Man is made or unmade by himself; in the armory of thought he forges the weapons by which he destroys himself; he also fashions the tools with which he builds for himself heavenly mansions of joy and strength and peace. By the right choice and true application of thought, man ascends to Divine Perfection; by the abuse and wrong application of thought, he descends below the level of beast. Between these two extremes are all the grades of character, and man is their maker and master."

"Of all the beautiful truths pertaining to the soul which have been restored and brought to light in this age, none is more gladdening or fruitful of divine promise and confidence than this - that man is the master of thought, the molder of character, and the maker and shaper of condition, environment, and destiny."

- "As A Man Thinketh" by: James Allen published 1902
